Leopard 1 is a german medium tank created during the Cold war. The tank had multiple versions like the Leopard 1A1 which is shown in the picture. The tank focused more on mobility than armour. The idea of the tank was to be so fast so enemy shells couldn't hit it.
The tank was used only in a couple of conlicts and was the "grandfather" of one of the best MBTs which is still used today, the Leopard 2a7. The tank had a very fast turret rotation. The 105mm gun on the earlier models was capable of using APDS and HEATFS shells. Then when the APFSDS shells were invented which are the best shells ever created, the Leopard 1 started using them.
