The Tiger H1

Updated: Feb 7, 2024

The Tiger H1 was a german heavy tank produced in WW2. It was considered one of the best heavy tanks of WW2. The main features were the tank's incredible armor that could be barely penetrated. Its 88mm anti tank gun was also great with 170mm of penetration and APHE shells. It had crew of 5 ( driver, hull gunner, gunner, loader, commander ). The tank was feared among all nations who battled with Germany. Even the russian T-34-85 tanks were at risk being destroyed by this monster. The Tiger H1 wasn't mass produced (around 1100 of them) and that was the main problem of the germans. They couldn't keep the mass production of their tanks

Reasons:

  1. Not enough matirials

  2. Germany being constantly bombed

  3. The tank was complicated To counter the tank some countries build tanks, specifically for response to the Tiger. Some countries even captured damaged or abandoned Tigers and used the against the germans.

In the end of this post my opinion about this tank is that it was very good at the battle field, but in the same time was very compicated for producing. I hope you enjoyed my post :)
